Ben Nielsen launches LGBTI[Q&A] podcast series

New podcast series exploring queer culture

It’s a big month for arts podcasts, and just a few days fresh from the launch of Making Conversation comes the newest series to hit the web.

LGBTI[Q&A] is a brand new podcast series exploring ‘conversations with leaders, who happen to be queer’.

Featuring guests across various industries in Australia, the first podcast showcases arts practitioner Declan Greene who discusses gay culture through his work in queer theatre.

LGBTI[Q&A] is the brainchild of Ben Nielsen, a Melbourne writer and broadcaster who serves the classical music community through his work with ABC Classic FM, and as a former contributor to CutCommon and Limelight Magazine.

In addition to his work in the arts, Ben also creates content for The Pinnacle Foundation, providing LGBTQIA+ youths with assistance in the way of scholarships and mentorships.

“My work with disadvantaged queer youth initially inspired me to create a podcast,” Ben says.

“But global issues like the 2016 Orlando nightclub shooting that made me ask: ‘what else can I do?’. I want to reach as many people as possible to let them know gender and sexual diversity is normal and LGBTIQA+ Australians are successful in all sorts of ways.”
