3MBS Fine Music Melbourne is once again hosting its marathon fundraiser, with tens of local musicians coming together to perform five back-to-back concerts in one day.
The 3MBS 2021 Haydn Marathon will be presented in the Athenaeum Theatre, and online through the Melbourne Digital Concert Hall. Artistic director Chris Howlett has handpicked a selection of music from the composer, who is known as the father of the string quartet as well as the symphony!
It’ll be the ninth marathon for Melbourne’s radio station. It all takes place on 27 February, with performances from solo stars such as Rohan de Korte, Elyane Laussade, and Kristian Chong, along with ensembles including the Melbourne Chamber Orchestra and the Australian Romantic & Classical Orchestra among others.
