CONTENT COURTESY AUSTRALIAN YOUTH ORCHESTRA

Discover the intimate world of chamber music with AYO Chamber Players. Directed by renowned Australian pianist, Piers Lane, this will not be your typical chamber music recital. Known for his pizzazz and dynamic approach on stage, the London-based pianist always aims to captivate audiences through his imaginative and emotive performances.

Passionate about gaining global exposure for Australia’s most talented young musicians, Piers will mentor AYO’s gifted musicians throughout an intensive week of rehearsals, before culminating with two free concerts on 29 September at Elder Hall. Enjoy an exciting and diverse program of classical favourites from the likes of Beethoven, Haydn, and Schubert, 20th Century masterpieces by Juon and Shostakovich, complemented by vibrant, contemporary Australian compositions.

Also featured in the program will be a world premiere of Andrew Howes’ String Quartet No. 3 Canons, commissioned by AYO.

If you enjoy an eclectic mix of pieces, come along and hear the country’s best young musicians transform their love for music into performances for string quartet, wind quintet and piano trio.
