Australian musicians Rachel Pines, Elli Welsh, and Oliver Boyd have co-founded Project Lieder — an organisation creating unique online art song concerts.

Its first project — Hugo Wolf’s Italienisches Liederbuch 1 — will premiere this Sunday on YouTube.

The artists have dramatised the Wolf cycle, creating a film narrative that complements the songs for a musical-like movie experience.

The project has been produced with phones and home audio/video equipment — and, of course, social distancing. All artists are living in Europe, where the pandemic still inhibits live music.

The stream will commence at 2pm (AEST) March 14, and will be visible until 28 March. You can buy tickets online and watch at leisure, with ticket prices varying according to budget.
