Third Culture’s music is a ‘musical treasure vase,’ a synthesis of musical styles from around the world, blending classical chamber music with original Australian compositions, plus new settings of traditional music from all corners of the globe.
The group is devoted to using the transformative powers of music to unify and inspire, with its joyful merging of classical, jazz, funk, and world music. Featuring Jane Rutter (flutes), John Huie (guitar, voice, SanXian), Hugh Fraser (double bass), Sally Schinckel (cello), Andrew Wilkie (vibes), and Maharshi Raval (tabla).
Ravel’s Bolero, works by J.S. Bach and Vivaldi, plus original pieces in which Chinese redgrass and India bollywood music meet classical chamber music for are included in the concert.
