Jazz Intensive: Tom Vincent masterclass and workshop

Learn jazz harmony and improvisation

In Hobart this month? Check out this Jazz Intensive: Tom Vincent Masterclass/Workshop, Jazz Harmony and Improvisation. Learn how to play classic jazz standards incorporating the blues. With Tom, you’ll work on songs including:

Things Ain’t What They Used To Be – Duke Ellington
What Is This Thing Called Love – Cole Porter
Summertime – George Gershwin
Raise Four – Thelonious Monk
Impressions – John Coltrane

The workshop is open to people with most instruments including trumpet, saxophone, piano, guitar, bass, clarinet, trombone, violin, and viola. Bring your instrument and lunch! Open to those aged 15-35 and able to ace your 12 major scales, and 12 ascending melodic minor scales. Know your three diminished scales? That’d be a bonus.

The deets:

Moonah Arts Centre, 11am-4pm October 14, $70 per person, limited numbers
Places reserved on payment online, or email christina@tomvincent.com.au to arrange other payment options. Questions? Phone: 0414 391 154
