Neither a classical concert or a club gig, Dots+Loops explores the spaces in between. Dots+Loops Synthesis is their first exciting show for 2018, and features a uniquely thrilling lineup including:
- The Dots+Loops Ensemble, performing music by Sufjan Stevens, Nico Muhly, and a brand new work for chamber ensemble and synthesiser by Melbourne’s Allison Wright;
- American viola and modular synth duo “The Yes &” in their first Australian performance, and
- The Southern Cross Soloists Next Gen Artists + friends performing a premiere showcase of immersive audiovisual works by Brisbane’s Chris Perren.
Held in the relaxed, beautifully converted warehouse space at Cupo, there’s a bar open all night, and a bunch of comfy spaces to chill with friends and enjoy the bangin’ tunes. Plus, the evening closes with an in-venue afterparty, where composers, performers and audience alike can chat and mingle, while curator Kieran Welch (DJ Airport) spins set of music conceptually following on from the rest of the program.
